There were 2.9 days suitable for fieldwork during the week ending November 18, 2018. Statewide, the average temperature was 29.8 degrees, 12 degrees below normal. Precipitation averaged 0.31 inches, 0.33 inches below normal. Topsoil moisture supply was rated at 4 percent short, 70 percent adequate, and 26 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated at 1 percent very short, 11 percent short, 70 percent adequate, and 18 percent surplus. Soybean harvest was 96 percent complete, compared to 99 percent last year. Sorghum harvested was at 93 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 94 percent. Winter wheat planted was at 95 percent, compared to 99 percent last year. Winter wheat emerged was at 84 percent, compared to 91 percent last year. Winter wheat condition was 4 percent very poor, 5 percent poor, 26 percent fair, 53 percent good, and 12 percent excellent.
