Highway Striping Underway

4 years, 11 months ago Jim Dewey with KHQA

The Illinois Department of Transportation will begin striping state highways in the area this week.

New center lines, edge lines and no passing zone lines will be applied in Adams, Brown, Hancock, Morgan, Pike, and Schuyler counties. The annual striping operation is expected to last through November.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.

You can view construction details on IDOT’s traveler information map on GettingAroundIllinois.com.
