Tyler Runk sentenced to 40 years in prison

A Jacksonville man, who pleaded Guilty to a series of home invasions last August in Adams, Pike and Scott counties, has received the maximum sentence he could get as part of a settlement with prosecutors.

Tyler Runk was in Pike County Circuit Court Thursday for a sentencing hearing. Records show that Runk was sentenced to 40 years in prison. He could have received as few as 26 years. Runk pleaded Guilty in March to three Class X counts of home invasion, one count of residential burglary, one count of unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, one count of possession of a stolen firearm, and three counts of felony theft. As part of a plea deal with prosecutors, 15 other counts were dropped. Runk admitted to committing a series of residential burglaries in Adams, Pike, and Scott Counties on August 15th, and two home invasions in rural Chambersburg on the morning of August 16. Two other defendants in the case, Germarco Tate and Jordan Gallup have also pleaded Guilty, although Tate's filed a motion to withdraw that plea. He'll have a hearing on that motion next month.

A fourth defendant, Edwin Powell, is due in court in June, and will undergo a mental fitness exam next week.
