The John Wood Community College Board of Trustees has approved a $15.54 million dollar balanced budget and adopted the school's strategic plan for 2020. The action was taken during Wednesday's regular board meeting.

There will be no tuition or institutional fee increases for any in-district, out-of-district or online students will during the 2019-2020 academic year. This marks the third straight year of no tuition or fee increases.

The 2020 budget is $551,592 higher than last year to support strategic plan initiatives, enrollment priorities and College contractual obligations. It also includes more than a dozen enrollment initiatives including scholarships to attract students into career, technical and health science programs.

Increased revenues are based on a projected 42,400 credit hours, which is 250 more than the current year’s budgeted amount, flat state funding and property taxes.
