Facing five counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault

A Quincy man accused of sexually assaulting two children under 13 has formally been found not fit to stand trial, and will soon be transferred to a state facility.

Johnnie Kadow was in Adams County Circuit Court Wednesday for a status hearing on five counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault. At the hearing, Judge Robert Adrian granted a defense motion saying that Kadow is unfit to stand trial. That's based on the results of a mental fitness exam. Kadow will be turned over to the Illinois Department of Human Services, and will likely be held at its' Rushville facility. Kadow's charges were based on incidents that allegedly happened July 11th against a 10 year old girl and a 7 year old boy. Kadow’s pleaded Not Guilty to the charges, which are Class X felonies.

Status hearings in the case are planned for January 3rd and January 24th.
