Adams Co Sheriff's Office says it made arrest after traffic stop near Mendon
A Keokuk man faces drug and other charges after his arrest Wednesday night in Mendon.
The Adams County Sheriff's Office says 28 year old TeCarl Steele and a passenger, 29 year old Sascha Berry of Nauvoo were in a vehicle on Highway 61 that was pulled over around 7:30 PM for a traffic violation. In a report, Sheriff Brian VonderHaar says both had outstanding warrants. That led to a search of the car, which turned up meth and another unidentified drug wrapped in baggies. Steele was arrested on charges of meth possession, possession with intent to distribute and two other charges. He's being held in the Adams County Jail without bond, and will likely have a hearing Thursday.
Berry was released after posting bail.
