Third NE Missouri county this week to grant Assent Order

A third Northeast Missouri County commission has OK'd the revised route of the proposed Mark Twain Transmission Line.

Knox County Commissioners Friday granted an Assent Order to Ameren Transmission Company of Illinois to build the high-voltage power line from near Palmyra to the Iowa line. Knox is the third county this week to approve the revised route, joining Marion and Lewis Counties, which granted orders on Monday. Under Ameren Transmission's plan, 90 per cent of the line would piggy-back on existing right of ways granted to Northeast Power and Ameren Missouri. Ameren is planning to get permission from Adair and Schuyler Counties in early September.

It also needs permission from the Missouri Public Service Commission.
