Jason Lage accused of murder in 2014 Monroe County incident
The trial of a Columbia, Missouri man, charged with 1st Degree Murder in a 2014 Monroe County shooting death, will be held next month.
Jason Lage appeared Monday morning at a pre-trial hearing in Callaway County court, on charges of 1st Degree Murder, Armed Criminal Action and Evidence Tampering in the 2014 shooting death of Zachary Dawson of Madison. Lage’s trial was moved to Callaway County on a change of venue from Monroe County. Court records show that the 5-day trial will start July 17th. Prosecutors, including one from the Missouri State Attorney General's Office, allege that the shooting happened at a house in Madison in February 2014, when Lage held a gun to Dawson's head to intimidate him during a robbery, and it went off.
Lage's being held on $1 million bond.
