LaGrange Man Arrested After Car Theft

Bond is set at 15 thousand dollars for a LaGrange Missouri man who was arrested early Wednesday Morning in Quincy.

Quincy Police arrested 43 year old Steven Clay after discovering a car reported stolen the day before in Lewis County in the parking lot of the Eagles Nest Motel. QPD had been told by Lewis County authorities that Clay was in the vehicle. Police then learned he was staying at the Eagles Nest.

After failing to make contact with Clay - police got a search warrant for the room. Clay was arrested when the warrant was served. During their search - officers also found a loaded shotgun.

Clay appeared in court later in the day and was formally charged with Unlawful Possession of a weapon by a felon and Possession of a Stolen vehicle.
