Could also be indicted on attempted murder charge
A Quincy man, charged in connection with a Sunday morning shooting in Quincy, will have a preliminary hearing early next month.
Louis Jenkins was in Adams County Circuit court for a hearing in connection with the Sunday morning shooting at an apartment in Country Club Heights complex near 31st and State. An April 4th preliminary hearing date was set for Jenkins, who's charged with Class X counts of attempted murder and aggravated battery, and one count of aggravated discharge of a firearm. One man was shot several times, and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Jenkins is in the Adams County Jail on $1 million bond. He could also be indicted by an Adams County Grand Jury before the hearing.
Police think the shooting wasn't random, and say more arrests are likely. Anybody with information on the shooting is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers or the Quincy Police Department.
