Machinists Union votes to strike at Hollister Whitney

Union employees at a Quincy manufacturer have voted to go on strike.

Union employees at Hollister Whitney voted Friday to strike. Members Machinists Lodge 822 have confirmed that the vote happened, but no specific reasons have been given by the union for why the strike vote was taken. Employees were picketing Friday afternoon in front of the facility on North 24th Street.

Hollister Whitney is an elevator equipment manufacturer that's been in business since 1906.
