Runs now through January 1, 2018
Quincy Mayor Kyle Moore proclaimed November 20th through January 1st as Project Red Ribbon in Quincy. And, as he has for the last 26 years - J T Dozier is leading the 27th annual Mothers Against Drunk Driving Project Red Ribbon. Dozier says the message is the same, "Very simple, make the right decision at the holiday time and throughout the year, just don't drink and drive." He said all of us have known someone who wasinjured or killed by a drunk driver and he encouraged, "Don't let you be the one that causes that tragedy."
After reading his proclamation - Mayor Moore tied a red Ribbon to his vehicle. and Police Chief Rob Copely tied a red ribbon on a police cruiser. Copely said he believes Project Red Ribbon has been productive in reducing the incidence of Drunk Driving. "I think our motoring public is getting the information," Copley said, "they get it."
Red Ribbons are available at Quincy City Hall and will soon be available at local banks and other locations around Quincy.
