Steve Homan to go on trial January 10

The owner of a Quincy bar, charged with choking a Quincy University student early Easter morning, will go on trial early next year.

Steve Homan was in Adams County Circuit Court Tuesday for a status hearing on one count of Aggravated Battery. Records show that Homan will go on trial starting January 10th. He was indicted in late April on the charge by an Adams County Grand Jury. Homan's accused in the early morning attack at The Barn on Front Street that injured QU freshman Jazzpher Evans. A charging document says that Homan put his arm around Evans's neck, and dragged her for 20 seconds. Evans says she blacked out as a result of that, and also reported injuries to her face, neck, back and other parts of her body. Homan turned in his liquor license in late April, just before a revocation hearing.

Homan’s free on $25,000 bond.
