Released descriptions of man, woman seen w/"Jane Doe"

The Marion County Sheriff's Department has released more details about the body of a woman, found in the Mississippi River near Hannibal in 2013, in an effort to ID her.

In a statement, the Sheriff's Department says that witnesses saw the woman on September 8th at the Mark Twain Cave & Gift Shop. She was seen with an unknown white man and an unknown white woman. The man’s described as very tall and tan with blonde hair, wearing an orange "Iowa Rodeo" cutoff t-shirt, shorts and work boots. The woman’s described as short, between 18 to 22 years old with short blonde hair with streaks, wearing a yellow shirt or tank top, and grey shorts with yellow trim.

The dead woman's body was found in the river just south of Hannibal a week later. She's described as being 39 years old, Hispanic, with brown hair and brown eyes, about 5 feet two to five feet four, and weighing about 135 pounds.  The body was dressed in an extra-large, pink, purple, navy, and yellow striped blouse and size 13/14 Ariya brand jeans. The female was wearing a ring.

The Sheriff's Office and the Missouri State Highway Patrol are asking families of missing persons who think the woman may be related to them to submit DNA samples. They’re also asking:

• Families to file a missing person’s report for those they think might be the Jane Doe, whom they have not had contact with since late 2013 or before.

• Include as much information as they can (scars, marks, tattoos, photos, associates, financial information, dental records, DNA samples etc.).

• Anyone who was at the Mark Twain Cave, the gift shop located at the cave and/or The Mark Twain Dinette who paid with cash, please come forward with any information you may have (photos etc.).

• Anyone who may have seen those individuals in the Hannibal area to please come forward with any information.
