Meetings set for Friday in Edwardsville and Wednesday in Bridgeview

The state of Illinois is planning two meetings over the next 7 days for companies interested in bidding on rebuilding parts of the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy.

The Illinois Capital Development Board and the Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs announced plans late Wednesday for two vendor forums this month. The forums are being held in advance of next months' issuing of a Request for Proposal to build a new Nursing Home and Domiciliary at the Vets Home. At the forums, set for Friday in Edwardsville and on Wednesday in Bridgeview, information on the plans for the $230 million design and build at Vets Home will be presented to companies taking part. A statement from the CDB says that the quality and experience of the team is a weighted consideration in the selection process, besides price and schedule.

The event will include a formal presentation where site plans, demolition, utilities, renovations, new construction, and the design-build process will be discussed. Advance registration is open for attendees and exhibitors at dbquincyveterans.eventbrite.com.
