Body of Lewis Boggs recovered south of Alexandria around 5PM Monday
The body of a missing Clark County boater has been recovered from the Mississippi River.
The Clark County Sheriff's Offfice confirmed Monday night that the body pulled from the river around 5PM Monday afternoon south of Alexandria was that of 69 year old Lewis Boggs. Officials were first called Sunday night about Boggs, who turned up missing during an excursion on the river near Alexandria. Investigators say Boggs and his wife were bringing a boat in off the river, when Boggs tried to tie the boat up and disappeared. Officials say that Bogg's wife was on shore at the time.
This is the third time this summer a search for a missing boater has been conducted near Keokuk.
