Quincy will see crest Monday morning, cities north will see crest Sunday & Monday afternoons

The Mississippi River has now crested in parts of the WTAD listening area, and should crest in all locations by the beginning of next week.

The latest readings Friday morning from the National Weather Service shows that from Hannibal south, the Mississippi crested either Thursday night, or Friday morning. Lock and Dam 21 crested at 23.91 feet Thursday afternoon. At Hannibal, the river crested at 24.8 feet early Friday morning. It's the eighth-highest crest ever in Hannibal. At Lock and Dam 22 at Saverton, a crest of 23.93 feet came early Friday morning. At Louisiana, a crest of 22.64 happened early Friday morning. Meanwhile at Quincy, the Mississippi crest has been revised, and after a slight dip, will now crest Monday morning at 24.9 feet. That's the ninth highest crest ever at Quincy. At Keokuk, At Keokuk, the Mississippi will crest at 21 feet Sunday afternoon. However, crests at Canton and La Grange have now been pushed back to Monday afternoon.

At Canton, a crest of 21.6 feet is expected, while at La Grange, the river will crest at 22.6 feet.
