MoDOT says work should be done by Nov 1

The Missouri Department of Transportation says that work on replacing the Missouri 168 overpass at US 61 near Palmyra, will start at the end of the month.

MoDOT announced Friday that it will start the project July 31st, which will replace the Missouri 168 overpass bridge, and make a new north-bound US 61 acceleration lane. That means starting the 31st, that section of 168 will be closed. In a statement, MoDOT Area Engineer Brian Haeffner also says that they'll close all lanes of 61 for about 24 hours, from 1 AM on Sunday, August 6, through 1 AM on Monday, August 7. After that, 61 will have at least one lane open to traffic in each direction at the overpass throughout the project.

You can also expect detours on the nearly $1.5 million project, which should be done by November 1.
