Cory Putnam of Holliday arrested by MSHP on DWI, Assault charges

A Monroe County man has been arrested on charges related to a fatal traffic crash in February.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says it arrested 28-year old Cory Putnam of Holliday Monday afternoon on a Monroe County warrant. He's facing felony charges of DWI resulting in the death of another, 4 counts of 2nd Degree Assault, 3 counts of DWI causing serious physical injury and three misdemeanor traffic charges. In the accident in southwest Monroe County, 31 year old Heath McCall died on February 22nd, after a pickup slid off an icy Highway 151, seven miles south of Madison. The Patrol said when they investigated the crash that the truck overturned several times and came to rest in a field. Besides Putnam, three other people were seriously hurt in the crash. The warrant against Putnam wasn't issued until Monday, as investigators with the Highway Patrol weren't able at first to determine who had been driving the truck.

Putnam's free on $75,000 bond. No court date's been set.
