More winter weather to move through parts of listening area

6 days, 7 hours ago by Scott Hardy

Includes Quincy/Hannibal area through 9 PM

Another round of winter weather is moving through parts of the WTAD listening area today.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory until 9 PM tonight for Adams and Brown counties in Illinois, and Marion, Lewis, Knox and Shelby counties in Missouri. Mixed precipitation is expected, with sleet accumulations of between 1 and 2 tenths of an inch and ice accumulations of up to a tenth of an inch in parts of northeast Missouri and west central Illinois. The Weather Service says you can plan on slippery road conditions through the day, and especially on your way home tonight. According to the Weather Service, it only takes a small amount of wintry precipitation to make roads, bridges, sidewalks, and parking lots icy and dangerous.

In Illinois, the latest road conditions can be found at gettingaroundillinois.com. In Missouri, the latest road conditions can be found at traveler.modot.org/map.
