Clinic at former Best Buy will open November 25

The Veterans Administration says that Quincy's new VA Clinic will open its' new location later this month.

The Iowa City VA Health Care System said Tuesday that its' Community-Based Outpatient Clinic in Quincy will open on Monday, November 25th in its' new location. That's in the former Best Buy building at 6020 Broadway, in the Prairie Trail Shopping Center. The VA says it's leasing the building, and once the clinic opens, the former location at 721 Broadway will close. The new clinic is about 22,000 square feet, which is almost 3 times larger than the current space. A statement from the VA says that allows them to add a physical therapy team and increase mental health services. The VA also says other expanded services at the new clinic will include radiology and a blood draw laboratory, as well as added space for primary care appointments. Audiology services will also expand, including access to the Iowa City VA audiology mobile clinic. The clinic currently serves about 3,000 patients and will have the capacity to add about another 5,000 veterans.

There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony next Thursday at 1 p.m. at the new clinic, which will open for VA patients the following Monday morning at 8 a.m.
