Accused of Attempted Murder in Marion County

A Hannibal woman, who’s pleaded Not Guilty to attempted 2nd degree murder and other charges, will go on trial in April.

Court records show that on Monday, Judge David Mobley set a one-day trial on April 19th for Victoria Norell in Marion County Circuit Court. She's facing charges of 2nd Degree Attempted Murder, Armed Criminal Action and Domestic Assault. Norell's accused of twice stabbing her boyfriend, 24 year old Zac Meyer in December 2016, after he returned to their group home in the 400 block of Washington. In a probable cause statement, Norell told police she was afraid she would be sent to a residential care facility, and that voices in her head told her to stab Meyer. Both are developmentally disabled.

Norell's in the Marion County Jail on $100,000 bond. A pre-trial hearing will be held March 20th.
