One dead after early-morning accident in Pike County, MO

MSHP identifies man as Don Weaver, 28, of Bowling Green

A Bowling Green man is dead, after a one-vehicle accident early Tuesday morning in Pike County, Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol identifies the man as 28-year old Don Weaver, and says the accident happened just after Midnight on US 54, west of US 61. A report says that Weaver was a passenger in a vehicle driven by 28-year old Loel Chatman of Bowling Green. Chatman's vehicle slid on an ice-covered bridge, went off the highway and overturned. Weaver was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Chatman and another passenger, 36-year old Cinda Smith of Louisiana, were both taken to hospitals for treatment of moderate injuries.

No one in the vehicle were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
