Taken to a Columbia hospital

A patient at a Hannibal nursing home and treatment center was injured Tuesday night after falling out of a window.

Hannibal police say they were called just after 9 PM to Levering Regional Health Center at 1734 Market Street. They say that a resident suffered injuries after falling from a 3rd story window. In a statement, HPD Lieutenant John Zerbonia says they're continuing to investigate the incident, but right now, they say quote, "the fall appears to be an intentional act of the injured party." The resident was taken to a Columbia hospital for treatment.

The incident is the second in six months where someone's fallen from a 3rd story window. Last November, a resident, only described as a 45-year old man, died after a similar fall.
