One man sentenced, a second to go on trial in Hannibal sexual assault

Travis Gerard gets 5 years probation, Kenny Lumpford to go on trial May 15

One of tthree Hannibal men, charged in an alleged kidnapping and sexual assault in Hannibal last May, has pleaded Guilty while a second will go on trial this spring.

Travis Gerard entered Guilty pleas on Friday in Marion County Circuit Court to charges of Unlawful use of a Weapon and Manufacturing Marijuana. As part of a settlement with prosecutors, Gerard received consecutive 4-year suspended sentences and 5 years' probation. Also on Friday, a 3-day trial starting May 15 was set for Kenny Lumpford on counts of Kidnapping and Domestic Assault. A third man, Demetrice Moffett, is due to go on trial starting April 22nd on counts of 1st Degree Rape, Kidnapping and Armed Criminal Action. Moffett's accused of assaulting the victim in a Hannibal motel. Lumpford's alleged to have known the victim, and made a deal with Moffett to take him to her, in exchange for drugs and money. Gerard admitting providing a .45 caliber handgun to Moffett and Lumpford.

Moffett's in the Marion County Jail and Lumpford's being held by the Missouri Department of Corrections.
