Caused highway to be closed for several hours
One person was hurt in a two-vehicle accident that caused US 24 in Brown County to be closed for several hours Friday.
The Illinois State Police identify the injured person as 45 year old Andrea Draksler of Dunlap, Illinois. Troopers say the accident happened around 10:50 AM on US 24, about a mile east of Timewell. In a report, the ISP says that Draksler's west-bound vehicle crossed the center line and sideswiped a semi driven by 58 year old Michael Chasteen of Creve Coeur, Illinois. Draksler was taken to Blessing Hospital with minor injuries. She was also cited for improper lane usage.
The wreck blocked both lanes, closing the highway for several hours until the vehicles could be moved.
