Accident happened Thursday night near school

One person was taken to the hospital Thursday night after a three-vehicle accident involving a Quincy Notre Dame transport bus.

Quincy police identify that person as 79-year old Murray Childers of Palmyra, and say that the accident happened around 6:25 PM at 8th and Jackson. A report says that Childers was heading north on 8th, when his vehicle was hit by the bus, driven by 56-year old Ron Kinscherf of Quincy. Kinscherf told officers his vehicle was stopped, and thought the intersection was a 4-way stop. He thought Childers was also going to stop. The force of the collision pushed Childers's vehicle into a third vehicle driven by 33-year old Megann Willing of Quincy. Nine QND students were on the transport at the time of the accident. They were all OK. Childers was taken to Blessing Hospital with what was feared to be serious injuries, but was later released.

Kinscherf was cited for Disobeying a Stop sign.
