Adam Chamberlain arrested Thursday morning

A Palmyra man faces meth trafficking and drug possession charges after his arrest.

Marion County Prosecuting Attorney David Clayton Thursday announced the arrest of 45 year old Adam Chamberlain of Palmyra on those charges. In a statement, Clayton says that Chamberlain allegedly had about 40 grams of meth and several hydrocodone pills when the Missouri State Highway Patrol led a raid on his Palmyra home Thursday morning. He was later picked up at Main Cross and Ashland. He's in the Marion County Jail on 50 thousand dollars' cash-only bond. Chamberlain currently faces up to 17 years in prison, but Clayton says he wants to enhance any possible punishment to up to 25 years, because Chamberlain's been convicted of at least 2 prior felonies.

Clayton says that Chamberlain's first court date will likely be next Tuesday in Palmyra.
