Adams Co. Sheriff's Office investigating
Parents in an Adams County school district were warned about a possible threat Thursday night, out of an abundance of caution.
That's according to Adams County Sheriff Brian VonderHaar, who said Friday that the warning was sent out by the Payson School District just to be cautious. VonderHaar says there was only one supposed incident that led to the warning, and that the district wanted to be proactive. The message, sent out to Payson parents, had warned of a man in a black pick-up that had approached kids, and asked them if they wanted to see a puppy, or possibly had been walking a puppy. VonderHaar says his office is still looking into the incident.
He says that if anyone has any questions, to call either Payson schools, or the Sheriff's Office.
