Penny Power Grants

Adams Electric coop has released the latest round of Penny Power grants to 19 area organizations.

 22 applications for Penny Power grants were reviewed by the grant committee on January 20th and over 91 hundred dollars was granted.

 Grants ranged from $200 for pool improvements in Mount Sterling to $1,000 toward the cost of a drainage project at the Adams County Fairgrounds.

 Several School districts will benefit from Penny Power grants which will help buy textbooks - reading material and supplies and the Adams County Red Cross will use a 500 dollar grant for the installation of smoke alarms in vulnerable areas.

 The Penny Power program is funded by members of Adams Electric Cooperative who have their bills rounded up to the nearest dollar.

 The extra pennies are used to support community betterment projects.

 To date, the program has donated over $360,000 to local groups.
