Michael Allen Black accused of killing man last August

A Bowling Green man, accused of shooting and killing his step-son, will have a preliminary hearing in May.

Michael Allen Black was in Pike County, Missouri Associate Court Wednesday for a status hearing, where Judge David Ash set a May 25th date for a preliminary hearing. Black‘s facing one count each of 1st Degree Murder and armed criminal action in the August 18th shooting death of 31 year old Alexander Koch. According to authorities, the shooting happened while the two were talking outside their rural Bowling Green home. Earlier that night, Black and Koch had a physical altercation, and Black allegedly told arresting officers he was tired of being beaten by Koch, and admitting shooting him once in the abdomen. Koch died about an hour later at a Louisiana hospital.

Black’s free on $500,000 bond.
