Mexico, MO man accused of fatally shooting fiance in Monroe County

Probable cause has been found against a Mexico, Missouri man, charged with murder in the death of his fiance’ two days before their planned April wedding.

That ruling against James Addie came Tuesday after he waived his preliminary hearing in Monroe County Associate Court on counts of First Degree Murder and Armed Criminal Action. Monroe County Prosecuting Attorney Talley Kendrick charged Addie one day after the body of 35 year old Molly Watson of Huntsville was discovered in Monroe County. Prosecutors say Watson was shot once in the head, and according to Addie, the two were to be married in Columbia later that weekend. The pair had a relationship for seven years, even though Addie's been married to his current wife for 22 years. He allegedly told law enforcement, “I got myself involved in something I shouldn’t have.”

Addie's being held in the Monroe County Jail on $500,000 cash-only bond, and will be arraigned July 5th.
