School announces it's raised over $6.4 million for improvements

Quincy Notre Dame High School says it's exceeded its' fund-raising goal for a campaign to improve the school.

The Catholic school's Foundation announced Wednesday morning that its' Campaign For Quincy Notre Dame exceeded its $6 million goal. The campaign raised a total of just over $6.4 million. The money will be used for expansion and renovation of school facilities, which broke ground in June of 2016. QND describes the fundraising campaign as the largest in school history. The school's expansion plan includes the construction and completion of the East Wing housing two new science labs to serve chemistry, physics and biology, an expanded physical science classroom, two additional classrooms and a new principal’s office and two guidance counselor offices. Several projects that are already completed include renovating public restrooms and the electrical power supply, upgrading HVAC systems and constructing an athletic concourse.

QND Foundation Executive Director Kurt Stuckman said in a statement that the fundraising results are "quite a transformational moment for Quincy Notre Dame.” QND says that it received over 400 gifts for the campaign, and that the largest gift was $500,000.
