Man with a gun was parked at All America Park
Quincy police were able to defuse a potentially deadly situation Monday morning along the riverfront.
Police say they were first called around 9:30 AM, and that a man with a gun was sitting in his car, which was parked in All America Park. Police noted that the man had the gun in sight, and at one point appeared to be loading it. It's thought that the man was suicidal. Police say that a negotiator was called in, and that the negotiator was able to persuade the man to turn over the gun and leave the vehicle. He's now in custody, and more details may be released later.
Police blocked a section of Bonansinga Drive from Broadway to Cedar during the incident, re-opening it two hours after they were called.
