Ashley Wilson charged with Reckless Discharge of a Firearm

Quincy police have arrested one person, and are looking for another, after a shooting Wednesday morning in The District, near 4th and Hampshire.

Witnesses say that 28 year old Ashley Wilson of Burlington, Iowa fired several shots at a black man while they were in a parking lot near the intersection, shortly before 8AM. The man then drove off in a 2017 white GMC Yukon with California license plate 7XQZ717. The QPD wants to talk to him about what happened, and announced Wednesday afternoon that Wilson's been arrested on a charge of Reckless Discharge of a Firearm. Rusty Williams, co-owner of the Park Bench restaurant, says that after the shooting, Wilson came in to the restaurant, with a gun in one hand, and the clip in the other, crying. Williams described his reaction after that.

Williams said that once she sat down at a table, he managed to move the gun and the clip away from Wilson, and secured the restaurant until police arrived. Williams also said that Wilson told him that she was being physically abused by the man, and she was trying to get away from him. It's not known if anyone was hurt in the shooting. Wilson's due in court Thursday morning.
