QPL to limit event attendance

QPL to limit event attendance

Temporary restriction starts Monday

The Quincy Public Library says that starting Monday, you won't be able to visit the main facility to attend an event.

On Thursday, the Library issued a statement saying that "out of an abundance of caution for their patrons and staff", they will temporarily suspend all in-person library sponsored events starting Monday. All other services will remain open, and the library's hours will remain from 9 AM to 8 PM, Monday-Thursday, and 9 to 5 Friday and Saturday. QPL Director Kathleen Helsabeck says in the statement that despite all the precautions they've taken with in-person programs, "given the recent uptick in cases and the state issued warning, we just want to err on the side of caution.”

The library says it plans to continue to offer events and programs virtually or through take and make kits. QPL’s Summer Reading Challenge will continue through the planned completion date of August 7th.
