Meeting with union tonight to try and avert a strike
The Quincy Public Schools plan to present a new proposal Tuesday night to teachers and other employees threatening to strike.
The revelation came after the School Board met in special session Tuesday morning. Most of the meeting was spent in closed session, talking about the latest offer. The Board says it's hopeful a deal will be reached. No specifics on the new proposal were given.
Tuesday night's meeting between the Board and the QFT is set to start at 5:30 P.M. at the QPS Board office. The union has set a January 13th deadline for a new deal, and could go on strike any time afterward.
