33 active COVID-19 cases on campus

Quincy University says that restrictions on campus dining will remain in effect through the end of next week.

The University said Tuesday, in an update on its' COVID-19 procedures, that limitations on indoor dining and gatherings on campus, that have been in effect for nearly a month, will remain in effect through at least November 6th. QU says that right now, those on campus should eat outdoors or eat in residence hall rooms, either alone or only with roommates. The University maintains that students are not contracting the disease in classrooms, labs or organized sports practices or games. So far, there have 181 total positive results at QU, and 33 students are considered active. They are in quarantine on campus, and are among 98 students who are in quarantine. That number also includes many other students who have not tested positive for COVID-19.

QU also says it's aware of three positive COVID-19 tests in the current semester for non-instructional staff members, one positive test for a faculty member and one positive test for a vendor’s employee. Three of the five are currently quarantined.
