Quincy Aeronautics committee delays decision on new Airport Director

Quincy Aeronautics committee delays decision on new Airport Director

5 years, 8 months ago by Scott Hardy

Will decide Tuesday; Terrance Ward's last day is Wednesday

The City of Quincy's Aeronautics Committee has delayed making a recommendation to the City Council on who to hire to replace out-going Quincy Regional Airport Director Terrance Ward.

The Committee decided Thursday afternoon to delay the recommendation until they get answers about several questions they have. That includes whether one of two final candidates, who the Committee feels is qualified, would take a likely pay cut to move from their current airport manager's job on the West Coast to Quincy. Committee members also want to put language in any contract with Aero Management Group that would ensure that the four City employees currently at the airport could continue to work there if Aero were to be chosen. There currently are enough open positions with the city that the four could be moved to other departments.

The Committee will meet Tuesday at Noon, in Council chambers. Ward's last day is Wednesday.
