Quincy Director of Administrative Services resigns

Quincy Director of Administrative Services resigns

2 months, 1 week ago by Scott Hardy

John "Skip" Bright's last day is February 1

The City of Quincy's Director of Administrative Services says he's resigning, effective next month.

John "Skip" Bright says he plans to step down February 1st. In a statement issued through the city, Bright says he wants to spend more time with his family. Bright said he was able to spend more time with his family during the holidays, which led to his desire to have more free time to spend with them. He called his time working with the city a "rewarding experience", and said that while it's not an easy choice, "I would like to be able to spend more time with them."

Mayor Kyle Moore said in the statement that Bright provided "world-class executive level experience", which he said helped the city during last year's budget cycle and union negotiations. Bright took the job in May 2017 after Glenda Hackamack stepped down. Bright has also served as President and CEO of Keokuk Savings Bank, CFO for Two Rivers Regional Council of Public Officials and Executive Director for the Quincy Business and Technology Center.
