Fire Thursday afternoon in basement of 527 Lind

The cause of a Thursday afternoon house fire on Quincy's northwest side has been ruled incendiary.

That's according to the Quincy Fire Department, who announced the finding Friday. A Quincy Fire Department spokesperson says that the house at 527 Lind was un-occupied, but that a family was reportedly moving items into an apartment in the building around 4 PM, when they noticed the basement was on fire. Four Quincy Fire Department trucks arrived on scene and four firefighters entered the house. They had the fire out within several minutes. No injuries were reported.

The Quincy Police Department is now looking into the fire.
