Quincy police say Ryan Stanton faces Home Invasion, weapons charges

A Quincy man is behind bars, after allegedly breaking into a Quincy home with a hand gun early Saturday morning, and then being knocked out by the home-owner.

Quincy police identify the suspect as 42-year old Ryan Stanton, and say that the incident happened around 1:30 AM at a home in the 1300 block of North 4th Street. A report says that Stanton allegedly went into the home, armed with a handgun and threatened the residents. The home's owner then reportedly hit Stanton in the face, knocking him unconscious. Police say Stanton was first taken to Blessing Hospital for treatment, then to the Adams County Jail, on counts of Home Invasion and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. The Home Invasion count is a Class X felony with a 6 to 30-year sentence if convicted. Police also say they were also able to recover the weapon.

Stanton will likely appear in Adams County Circuit Court Monday morning for a bond hearing.
