Darion Simms, 18, picked up Thursday morning during break-in

A Quincy man's been arrested in connection with several break-ins at a Quincy gun shop.

Quincy Police Friday announced the arrest of 18-year old Darion Simms. A statement says Simms was arrested around 2:30 AM Thursday morning after he was seen leaving Prevailing Arms, in the 500 block of South 9th Street. Police were called to the store about a burglary in progress, and found signs of forced entry into the building. They add that Simms was arrested after a brief struggle. QPD Detectives then learned that Simms was involved with two previous burglaries to the business. Later Thursday, a search warrant in the St. Louis area led to a firearm from one of the earlier burglaries being recovered. Simms was arrested on counts of Burglary, Resisting a Peace Officer, and Aggravated battery to a Police Officer.

He's in the Adams County Jail pending a bond hearing. The QPD say their investigation is on going at this time.
