5 years, 9 months ago by Scott Hardy

Everett E Humphrey to be sentenced Nov 9

A Quincy man's been found Guilty of Federal meth distribution charges.

That verdict against Everett E Humphrey was handed down by a jury Wednesday in US District Court in Springfield. After deliberating for only 45 minutes, the jury found Humphrey Guilty of both Meth possession with intent to distribute and conspiracy charges. Humphrey was convicted of conspiring to and intending to distribute over 500 grams of meth last year. He'll be sentenced November 9th. A second man, John Varley, has pleaded Guilty to a meth conspiracy charge, and will be sentenced in September. The pair and a third man were picked up in late August 2017, after a raid by the West Central Illinois Task Force and Quincy police on a home in the 2100 block of Rainbow Lane on Quincy's far north side. The third man, Everett J Humphrey, has been sentenced in Adams County to probation after taking a deal with prosecutors.

Both Varley and Everett E Humphrey remain in Federal custody.
