Kerry Talburt pleaded Guilty Monday to 5 of 13 counts against him

A Quincy man, facing 13 counts in all, has pleaded Guilty to five counts, and is going to prison.

Kerry Talburt the Second was in Adams County Circuit Court Monday, where he pleaded Guilty to five counts, including Trafficking a Controlled Substance, three counts of Cannabis Delivery and one count of Aggravated Battery. As part of a settlement with prosecutors, eight other charges against Talburt were dropped. Those included Class X counts of Ecstasy Manufacturing and Home Invasion. After the plea, Talburt was then sentenced to 15 years in prison. The Aggravated Battery charge stems from a July 2017 incident, where Talburt was accused of getting into a fight with his neighbor in the one thousand block of Jersey. He admitted to putting his thumb in the man’s eye, and then letting his pit bull bite the man in the face.

Talburt could have gotten up to 60 years in prison if convicted on both Class X counts.
