Nathan Caldwell will now go on trial in August on seven counts

A Quincy man, who’s pleaded Not Guilty to seven child-porn charges he faces in Adams County, has had his trial delayed a month.

Nathan Caldwell was in Adams County Circuit Court Tuesday for a status hearing, ahead of his trial July 8th. Records show that he'll now go on trial August 12th, after a defense request for the delay was granted. Caldwell faces three Class X counts of Child Porn involving a victim under 13. He also faces four other counts of Child porn, and was indicted on all seven counts in November by an Adams County Grand Jury. Caldwell, who worked in a daycare run by the Church of St. Peter, was arrested after Quincy police got a tip from the Illinois Attorney General's Internet Crimes Against Children division. He's accused of having hundreds of pictures and over a dozen videos on his phone.

Caldwell is in the Adams County Jail on $700,000 bond.
