Jonathan Hoats arrested Friday by QPD

A Quincy man, arrested Friday as part of a child sexual abuse and pornography investigation, has been formally charged .

20-year old Jonathan Hoats made his first court appearance Tuesday, where he learned he's been charged with three counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a victim under 13, and one count of Child Pornography. Prosecutors allege the incidents happened in July 2016, July 2017 and last August. All four of those are Class X counts, with a 6 to 30 year sentence per count if convicted. Hoats was arrested last Friday morning without incident at 28th and Broadway. Prosecutors say that in 2018, Hoats shared a residence in the 900 block of Joshua Street with Martin Wiskur. He was arrested last November on similar child porn charges, and is set to be in court March 5th. Prosecutors say that after Wiskur's arrest, the QPD continued to investigate if any other children may have been victims. They say that a child under 13 was identified, and alleged abuse by Hoats. Police also say some of the alleged abuse happened at the home on Joshua Street.

Wiskur's in the Adams County Jail on $250,000 bond. Hoats, who's being held on $200,000 bond, is set to have a preliminary hearing on Monday.
