Charles DeWeese to be sentenced July 29

A Quincy man facing Federal child sex charges, has pleaded Guilty to one of the counts and will be sentenced this summer.

Charles DeWeese was in U.S. District Court in Springfield Tuesday, where he pleaded Guilty to one count of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. As part of a settlement with prosecutors, three similar counts will likely be dropped. DeWeese was indicted on the charges in October 2017 by a Federal Grand Jury, and has admitted to have inappropriately recorded video of children in his home. Authorities allege the incidents happened from January 2014 to November 2016. Quincy police arrested DeWeese at his home in the 2200 block of Payson Avenue, after getting a tip from the Division of Children and Family Services. Police said they found "numerous hidden cameras and microphones" while searching his home.

DeWeese is being held without bond by U.S. Marshals, and will be sentenced July 29th.
