Adam Rickert received 10-year sentence during Monday hearing

A Quincy man, who had pleaded Not Guilty to armed robbery and other charges, changed his plea Monday on one of the charges, and is going to prison.

Adam Rickert was in Adams County Circuit Court, where he pleaded Guilty to one count of Aggravated Robbery involving a firearm. As part of a settlement, prosecutors dropped a more serious Class X charge of Armed Robbery, along with two counts of Aggravated Battery. After the plea, Rickert was then sentenced to 10 years in prison. At the hearing, Rickert admitted robbing an acquaintance December 23rd at an apartment at the Welcome Inn at 200 Maine. Quincy police arrested Rickert shortly after the alleged incident happened.

He was accused of robbing the acquaintance, and also beating that person with a blunt object.
