Christopher Huckstep to go on trial in March

A Quincy man, accused of fatally shooting another man in December on the city's northwest side, has pleaded Not Guilty and will go on trial in March.

Christopher Huckstep entered that Not Guilty plea Wednesday at his arraignment in Adams County Circuit Court. He's due to go on trial March 9th. Huckstep was indicted in early December by an Adams County Grand Jury on three counts of 1st Degree Murder in the shooting death of 26-year old Emond Morris of Quincy. Prosecutors say that Morris died of a single gun-shot wound around 3:30 AM December 4th at a home in the 700 block of Cedar. Morris's body was found by officers shortly after they arrived. A report says that they found Huckstep a short time after the shooting in the 1200 block of North 12th Street. They also found a firearm during the arrest.

Huckstep's in the Adams County Jail on $5 million bond.
